Photographed in early spring between Cleveland and Akron, Ohio these swans will mate for life. But there are times when a swan will take a new mate. A swan will take a new mate if its partner gets lost or dies. Swans choose mates when they are 2 to 3 years old. A swan begins its courtship by displaying, or showing off, to another swan. Swans display while facing each other. They dip and turn their heads. Swans may also �kiss� bills. When swans kiss, their necks form a heart shape.
About Ken Krolikowski
While growing up in Northern Ohio, photography began it's part in my life while in elementary school. Over the years I've spent countless "hands on" hours outdoors and behind the computer creating new images. Two years in Charlotte, N.C. from 2002-2004 brought me a taste of the "Southern Hospitality" that up to then I had only read and heard about. I am now based in Streetsboro, Ohio, a smaller town halfway between between Cleveland and Akron, Ohio. I would describe my style as "Across The Board"... no parameters, no boundaries. I am 99.9% self taught with a desire to never stop learning...always experimenting with something different regarding photography, digital design, prints, t shirts, etc. I am very, very fortunate to have had...
